Fifteen-year-old Nehemiah Elder is gearing up for the upcoming Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in Fiji, scheduled for September 17-21, just three weeks away. With the event approaching, Nehemiah is undergoing rigorous training and feels confident as he competes in the 89kg category, ready to represent Fiji on an international level.
Nehemiah hails from a lineage of weightlifting champions, following the legacy of his father and head coach, Henry Elder, along with his older brothers. Although he is still young, Nehemiah has already established himself in the sport by breaking three Oceania records in the 73kg division. As he transitions to a heavier weight category, his determination to make Fiji proud is stronger than ever.
