Fiji’s Young Taekwondo Star Makes Olympic Debut in Paris

Lolohea Naitasi, representing Team Fiji, is the youngest Taekwondo competitor at the 2024 Paris Olympics. At just 17 years old, she was deeply moved by the support from her team and other Oceania participants during her Olympic debut at the Grande Palais in Paris. Naitasi expressed that this was her best performance yet, crediting her coach, Master Ra, for encouraging her to enjoy the experience.

Although she faced world number five, Julyana Alsadeq from Jordan, and ultimately lost, Naitasi made history as one of the first athletes from Fiji to qualify for the Olympics in Taekwondo. She is now focused on preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
