Fiji’s Young Taekwondo Star Aims for Olympic Glory

Lolohea Naitasi of Team Fiji has made history as the youngest Taekwondo competitor at the 2024 Paris Olympics. At just 17 years old, she received immense support from her team and other Oceania athletes during her Olympic debut at the Grande Palais in Paris.

Naitasi expressed that this was the best performance of her career, crediting her coach, Master Ra, for encouraging her to embrace the experience and enjoy every moment of her time in the ring. Despite her efforts, she faced a tough match against world number five, Julyana Alsadeq from Jordan.

Having already made a significant mark by being one of the first Fijians to qualify for Taekwondo at the Olympics, Naitasi is now focused on her goals for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
