Fiji’s Young Stars Prepare for International Showdown

The Digicel Fiji Men’s National football team is currently in preparation for the FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series 2024, with training taking place at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba.

Among the 26 players selected for the squad are Fiji U-19 captain Penisoni Tirau and defender Mohammad Aymaan, both of whom impressed at the OFC U-19 Men’s Championships earlier this year.

Team manager Kartik Reddy stated that 24 players are present in camp, with two additional players set to join soon. Jerome Narayan, a goalkeeper based in Australia, is already part of the training squad, while New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga is expected to arrive on Sunday, followed by team captain Roy Krishna on September 3.

The final roster of 23 players will be revealed on August 30 before the team travels to Suva. Under the guidance of head coach Rob Sherman, the team is scheduled to compete against the Solomon Islands National team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and the Hong Kong, China National team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The list of 26 squad members includes: Isikeli Sevanaia, Jerome Narayan, Akuila Mateisuva, Samuela Kautoga, Patrick Joesph, Sterling Vasconcellos, Atonio Tuivuna, Mosese Nabose, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Muni Shivam Naidu, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Thomas Dunn, Mohammed Raheem, Setareki Hughes, Aporosa Yasa, Nabil Begg, James Hoyt, Tevita Waranaivalu, Dave Radrigai, Sairusi Nalaubu, Etonia Dogalau, Roy Krishna, Mohammed Aymaan, Rahul Krishna, and Melvin Mani.
