Fiji’s David Young, also known as Tolu, has made significant waves at the TYR Fort Lauderdale Pro Series in Florida, breaking three national swimming records. His remarkable achievements included setting a new record in the 100 meters freestyle with a time of 49.98 seconds, besting the previous record held by Carl Probert since the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Additionally, Young excelled in the 50 meters butterfly, first establishing a new national record of 24.3 seconds, which surpassed his own mark of 24.47 seconds set during the Commonwealth Youth Games. He continued to improve upon his performance, clocking an impressive 23.96 seconds in the B finals.

Young also set a personal best in the 50 meters freestyle, finishing with a time of 22.29 seconds, breaking his prior record of 22.71 seconds set at the 2024 Olympics. With these outstanding results, he secured three qualifying times for the upcoming World Aquatic Championships scheduled for August in Singapore.
