The Fiji Young Kulas faced a tough start at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, suffering a 9-0 loss to Brazil in their first match. The Brazilian team showcased their skill, scoring three rapid goals within the first 15 minutes. By halftime, Brazil had established a 5-0 lead and maintained their superior performance throughout the second half.

Despite the heavy defeat, the team coached by Angeline Chua demonstrated resilience and tenacity against a formidable opponent. Fiji’s next challenge will be against Canada at 1pm on Wednesday. In another Group B encounter earlier, France and Canada played to an exciting 3-3 draw.
