Fiji’s Young Kulas Set for Historic World Cup Debut Against Brazil

The Fiji Young Kulas are preparing to compete against Brazil in the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, which takes place tomorrow. Assistant Coach Annette Nainima emphasized their goals of putting in a strong performance and scoring their first-ever goal in a World Cup match.

Nainima expressed her pride in reaching this milestone, stating, “It’s our first ever World Cup, and we want to share this experience with our families and loved ones. It’s significant because no one thought the Fiji women’s team would make it this far, but we have.”

She added that their families back home are eagerly anticipating the matches, which will be broadcast live on television. “We’re just going to give our best,” she noted.

Fiji’s World Cup schedule includes their match against Brazil at 11 AM on Sunday, September 1, followed by a game against Canada at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 4, and a face-off with France at 10 AM on Saturday, September 7, all times reflecting Fiji’s local time.
