As the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup continues, the Digicel Fiji Young Kulas are gaining important insights from their experiences on the field, according to midfielder Talei Moodie.
“It’s a whole new level in the world of soccer,” Moodie noted when discussing the team’s performance. “This is our first time here, so we expected to face challenges in unfamiliar ways. It’s a valuable learning experience, and I believe this will motivate us as we move forward.”
Despite suffering a heavy 9-0 defeat against Canada, Head Coach Angelina Chua praised her team’s tenacity and courage, particularly during the second half of the match.
“We regroup after each game, always aiming to improve,” Chua expressed. “Our goal is always to score, and that will continue to be our focus.”
Looking ahead, the Young Kulas are scheduled to compete against France in their final match of the tournament on Saturday.
