The Digicel Fiji Young Kulas team is set to depart for Costa Rica today after completing their USA tour and playing several warm-up matches. Coached by Angeline Chua, the team has been in a preparation phase ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2024, which will be held in Colombia from August 31 to September 22. The Young Kulas recorded two victories from two matches during their time in the US.
Avikash Chand, the head of media for the Fiji Football Association, confirmed that the support from the Fijian community in the US has been significant. The team played their final match against Lincoln University yesterday before making their way to Costa Rica.
The Young Kulas will begin their World Cup campaign with a match against Brazil on September 1 at 11 AM, followed by a game against Canada on September 4 at 1 PM. They will also face France on September 7 at 10 AM.
