After completing its USA tour and participating in warm-up matches, the Digicel Fiji Young Kulas team departed for Costa Rica today. Coached by Angeline Chua, the team is in a preparation phase ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2024, which will be held in Colombia from August 31 to September 22. The Young Kulas secured two victories from their two matches in the US.
Avikash Chand, the head of media for the Fiji Football Association, noted that the support from the Fijian community in the US has been immense. The team played its last match against Lincoln University yesterday before leaving for Costa Rica.
In the World Cup, the Young Kulas will face Brazil in their opening match on September 1 at 11 AM, followed by a clash with Canada on September 4 at 1 PM, and they will take on France at 10 AM on September 7.
