The Young Kulas are set to make their first appearance in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Colombia from August 31 to September 22, 2024. The reigning champions are Spain. Alongside Fiji, Morocco will also be competing in the tournament for the first time, both sponsored by Digicel Fiji.
Recently, the team played two friendly matches against Morocco and Costa Rica, shifting their focus towards the significant challenges ahead in the World Cup, where they will compete against some of the best teams globally. Coach Angeline Chua emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong defensive strategy, especially in light of the formidable opponents they will face.
Fiji has been placed in Group B, alongside Brazil, France, and Canada, and will kick off their tournament with a match against Brazil on September 1.
