The Digicel Fiji Young Kulas faced a tough match in their second game at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, suffering a 0-9 defeat against a strong Canadian team.
Although they put forth a determined effort similar to their earlier match against Brazil, they were unable to match the Canadians’ strength. Canada dominated the game, leading 7-0 by halftime.
Despite the score, 15-year-old Fijian goalkeeper Aliana Vakaloloma made several impressive saves, demonstrating her potential in difficult circumstances. While Fiji’s defense showed resilience, they found it challenging to cope with the relentless assaults from the Canadian forwards.
Next, the Fiji Young Kulas will turn their attention to their final group stage match against France.
