Sixteen-year-old Annie May from Savusavu FC has been appointed as the captain of the Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas for the upcoming OFC U-16 Women’s Championship. She will be joined by vice-captain Ulamila Rasovsova as the team gets ready for the tournament, which begins this Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Teams from Samoa, New Zealand, Tonga, Cook Islands, Tahiti, and Solomon Islands have already arrived in Fiji and are acclimating ahead of the competition. The arrival of the New Caledonia team has been postponed due to flight issues, but they are expected to arrive soon. The Fiji squad, coached by Marika Rodu, will compete against Tonga in their first match of the championship at 3 pm this Sunday.
