Three new records were set at the Triple N Zone Athletics competition this morning at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Notably, Serevi Tova from Nakasi High School excelled in the 3000-meter open boys final, surpassing his previous record of 9 minutes and 49.90 seconds from last year with a remarkable new time.

In addition, Adi Lusiana Marawaqa of Wainimala Secondary School broke a decade-old record in the junior girls 800m, finishing with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 29.85 seconds, establishing a new benchmark that outperformed Mere Qoro’s 2013 record.

Eroni Seru, also from Nakasi High School, added to the day’s accomplishments by shattering the intermediate boys 800m record with a time of 2 minutes and 6.43 seconds.

These achievements not only highlight individual talent but also reflect a collective drive for excellence among young athletes in Fiji. This ongoing trend of record-breaking performances from youth athletes underscores the rich potential within the athletics community, fostering a competitive spirit and camaraderie among schools. As excitement builds for future competitions, these athletes continue to inspire their peers and communities, promising a bright future for sports in Fiji.
