This record was set four years ago by Wainimala Secondary School.
In the senior girls’ division, Akeneta Lutu of Lomaivuna School broke the existing record previously held by Adi Cakobau School. Lutu’s new time of 5 minutes and 25.15 seconds positions her as a formidable contender for the upcoming 3000m event scheduled for tomorrow.
Lastly, in the sub-junior boys’ category, Waisea Turagalailai established a record with a time of 4 minutes and 57.12 seconds, surpassing the former record of 5 minutes and 1.97 seconds set by Voruani Veremalua in 2023.
