The Education Ministry has announced an 86 percent pass rate for this year’s Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination, a slight decrease from last year’s 91 percent. Despite the drop, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro praised the achievements of schools that have shown improvement in their results.

Notably, two government schools, Adi Cakobau School and Vunisea Secondary, have made remarkable progress, with Adi Cakobau improving its pass rate from 97 percent to 98 percent and Vunisea Secondary significantly increasing from 83 percent to 97 percent. The Minister also expressed appreciation for the ten secondary schools that attained a perfect 100 percent pass rate, which includes institutions like Nadarivatu Secondary, Nilsen High, and Jai Narayan College among others.

Radrodro encouraged parents and guardians to engage in meaningful discussions with their children regarding their examination outcomes. He emphasized the importance of providing support as students contemplate their future pathways, whether that means pursuing higher education, vocational training, or entering the job market.

The Education Minister acknowledged the collective effort of teachers, students, and parents, which has contributed to the favorable results. He urged students who are continuing their studies in secondary and tertiary education to remain dedicated to their academic goals and perform to the best of their abilities.

This year’s results highlight a commitment to educational improvement in Fiji and underscore the importance of collaborative support among families, educators, and students in navigating educational challenges and opportunities.

Overall, while there has been a slight decline in the overall pass rate, the improvements observed in individual schools reflect a positive trend in educational outcomes and the ongoing dedication to fostering an environment of success for students.
