Fiji’s World Cup Journey: Uncertainty Looms as Opponents Change Coaches

As the FIFA World Cup qualifiers draw near, Rob Sherman, head coach of the Fiji Bula Boys, expressed concerns regarding the unpredictability introduced by recent coaching changes among their group opponents.

With Josh Smith and Felipe Vega-Arango taking on new coaching positions, Sherman noted that this could alter their opponents’ play styles significantly.

“There’s an element of the unknown because Josh and Felipe are new in their roles. How they’ve played in the past might not reflect how they’ll approach the upcoming matches. We’ve done our analysis, but there’s always some uncertainty when new coaches come into play,” Sherman stated.

Fiji is looking to leverage the support of their enthusiastic home crowd to achieve a strong performance in the next round of the World Cup qualifiers.
