Fiji’s World Cup Hopes Boosted by Rawaqa’s Return

Experienced Suva defender Kavaia Rawaqa has been selected for Fiji’s squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. After some time away from the national team, Rawaqa has been brought back to replace Mosese Nabose, who withdrew from the team due to personal reasons. Additionally, Suva striker Merrill Nand and Ba forward Etonia Dogalau, who were absent from previous selections, have also been added to the roster. The Fiji team, managed by Rob Sherman, will begin their campaign against the Solomon Islands at 7pm on Thursday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.

The Fiji squad includes: Isikeli Sevanaia, Akuila Mateisuva, Jerome Narayan, Ivan Kumar, Samuela Kautoga, Gabriel Matanisiga, Filipe Baravilala, Kavaia Rawaqa, Epeli Leiroti, Sterling Vasconcellos, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Setareki Hughes, Leroy Jennings, Aporosa Yada, Tevita Waranaivalu, Merrill Nand, Dave Radrigai, Rahul Krishna, Sairusi Nalaubu, Roy Krishna, Thomas Dunn, Nabil Begg, and Etonia Dogalau.
