Experienced defender Kavaia Rawaqa has been named in Fiji’s squad for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Rawaqa, who has not played for the national team in some time, fills in for Mosese Nabose, who has withdrawn due to personal obligations.
Additionally, Suva striker Merrill Nand and Ba forward Etonia Dogalau, who were absent from previous selections, have also been included in the team.
Under coach Rob Sherman, Fiji will begin their campaign against the Solomon Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva at 7pm on Thursday.
The Fiji squad includes: Isikeli Sevanaia, Akuila Mateisuva, Jerome Narayan, Ivan Kumar, Samuela Kautoga, Gabriel Matanisiga, Filipe Baravilala, Kavaia Rawaqa, Epeli Leiroti, Sterling Vasconcellos, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Setareki Hughes, Leroy Jennings, Aporosa Yada, Tevita Waranaivalu, Merrill Nand, Dave Radrigai, Rahul Krishna, Sairusi Nalaubu, Roy Krishna, Thomas Dunn, Nabil Begg, and Etonia Dogalau.
