A three-day workshop was held in Fiji, with over 40 participants from more than 20 government agencies, civil society organizations, and development partners, to review the National Service Delivery Protocol. This protocol is vital as it guides the delivery of survivor-centered services for individuals affected by gender-based violence.

The gathering included representatives from various sectors such as health, police, education, and social services. It offered participants a platform to reflect on current challenges, share experiences, and collaborate to enhance the national response system for addressing gender-based violence.

This initiative comes in alignment with Fiji’s commitment to the National Action Plan to Prevent Violence Against All Women and Girls, actively supported by the Australian Government. The National Service Delivery Protocol ensures that survivors receive services that are both respectful and urgent, contributing to a stronger framework for addressing these critical issues.

Historically, similar workshops have emphasized the importance of training and educational programs in combating violence against women and girls, marking a significant commitment from various stakeholders in Fiji. The objective remains clear: to create a supportive environment where victims can receive the necessary care while fostering community resilience against gender-based violence.

With the increasing engagement from diverse sectors and ongoing collaboration, there is strong hope that these efforts will lead to meaningful change in addressing gender-based violence in Fiji and throughout the Pacific region. The collective spirit shown during the workshop serves as a reminder that combating this pervasive issue requires the involvement and dedication of the entire community.
