Fiji Football Association CEO Mohammad Yusuf expressed optimism regarding the country’s first-ever women’s futsal team participating in the inaugural OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands. He emphasized that the team consists of national-level players who are fully prepared for the competition.
“The coach has selected all the national level players for the women’s futsal team; also the experience is there so I don’t think they’ll be under pressure,” Yusuf said. He added, “We have got high hopes for these girls to play in the final and hopefully win, qualifying for the Futsal World Cup next year.”
Yusuf also extended his gratitude to Fiji’s national sports commission chair Peter Mazey and Minister for Sports Jese Saukuru for their support in aiding the team’s efforts.
