Fiji FA CEO Mohammad Yusuf expressed optimism about the women’s futsal team’s prospects at the inaugural OFC Women’s Futsal Nations Cup in the Solomon Islands. He noted that the squad is made up of national-level players who are well-prepared for the competition.
“The coach has selected all national-level players for the women’s futsal team; they have the experience, so I believe they won’t feel under pressure,” Yusuf commented.
He added, “We have high hopes for these girls to reach the final and hopefully win, allowing them to qualify for the Futsal World Cup next year.” Yusuf also expressed gratitude to Fiji’s national sports commission chair Peter Mazey and Minister for Sports Jese Saukuru for their support of the team.
