Emergency operations centers will continue to function in the Western Division of Fiji as the Fiji Meteorological Service has forecasted ongoing rainfall throughout the weekend. Divisional Commissioner Western, Apolosi Lewaqai, has urged the public to exercise caution due to the anticipated adverse weather conditions.

In a positive development, food rations have been successfully distributed to 61 families currently residing in evacuation centers in Nadi. These families were affected by flooding earlier in the week and are housed in facilities such as Andrews Primary School, Saioni Church, Korovuto Secondary School, and the Vou Dance Group Office.

Community support has been robust, with several faith-based organizations, non-governmental groups, local businesses, and the Ministry of Health stepping in to provide essential donations. Supplies have included cooked meals, bottled water, and food rations, as well as hygiene kits, ensuring the needs of those displaced are being attended to.
