Weightlifting Fiji’s Nehemiah Elder has made headlines at the 2025 Under-20 Oceania Weightlifting Championships in Melbourne, winning two gold medals and breaking six championship records. Competing in the 88kg Youth and Junior categories, Elder excelled with record-setting lifts in snatch, clean and jerk, and total lifts in both divisions under the Oceania Weightlifting Federation.
Elder’s impressive performance affirmed his position as the leading lifter in his category, marking a significant achievement for him and for Fiji on the international weightlifting stage. Beginning his weightlifting journey at the tender age of five, Elder has honed his skills alongside top-level lifters, contributing to his remarkable success.
