The Fijian government has activated 18 evacuation centres in response to the ongoing adverse weather conditions affecting residents in the Northern Division. Minister for Disaster Management, Sakiasi Ditoka, reported that 13 centres are located in Cakaudrove, while five more have been established in Macuata. The centres are primarily set in schools, community halls, and private residences, offering refuge to a total of 550 evacuees across the country.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged residents in affected areas to remain in safe shelters until they receive the all-clear signal.
