Dr. Amit Chanan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Water Authority of Fiji, has been honored as an IWA Fellow by the International Water Association at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition held in Toronto, Canada.
WAF Board Chairman Ratu Savenaca Seniloli praised Dr. Chanan for this significant achievement. He stated, “This is a remarkable and impressive achievement for the Water Authority of Fiji and its CEO. WAF and Fiji are proud to have a leader of his caliber who is consistently striving for greater heights, all aimed at ensuring that the people of Fiji have access to proper water and sanitation services.”
The recognition as an IWA Fellow represents a prestigious honor awarded to individuals by the association. IWA Fellows comprise a distinguished group of global water professionals recognized for their expertise and leadership in water science, technology, and management, especially as the sector continues to evolve.
Mr. Graham Dooley, a WAF Board Director and former President of the Australian Water Association, also congratulated Dr. Chanan on this achievement. He remarked, “Over the past couple of decades, Dr. Chanan has made significant contributions to the water industry in Australia, Fiji, and across the Pacific. This recognition is well-deserved for his pivotal role in advancing the water sector.”
