Waste Recyclers Fiji Limited has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) Awards, which will be held in Sydney in November 2024.
The company is nominated for the Improved Recycling System Award, highlighting its dedication to sustainability and recycling efforts. It stands out among renowned industry players such as AB Food & Beverages Australia Pty Limited, Circular Plastics Australia (PET) — a partnership between Pact Group and Cleanaway Waste Management, Asahi Beverages, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, and Henkel Australia Pty Ltd.
Being the sole representative from Fiji to earn this nomination and recognition as a finalist marks a significant milestone, reflecting the effectiveness of WRFL’s sustainability initiatives over the last thirty years.
Amitesh Deo, the founder of the Pacific Recycling Foundation and Director of WRFL, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the nomination. “It is an incredible honour for us to be recognised alongside some of the largest and most innovative companies in Australia. This nomination is not just a win for WRFL but for all of Fiji. We are proud to represent our nation on such a prestigious platform, showcasing the hard work and dedication we have invested in sustainability over the years,” Deo stated.
