Fiji’s Volleyball Championship Scores Big with Major Sponsorship!

Hot Bread Kitchen (HBK) has reaffirmed its support for grassroots sports in Fiji by donating $9,292 to the Fiji Volleyball Federation for the upcoming 2025 Easter Volleyball Championship. The sponsorship was officially presented at HBK’s headquarters in Wailada by Upashana Ben, the general manager of business development. This funding is crucial for ensuring a successful tournament, set to take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Fiji Volleyball Federation president Kemueli Naiqama expressed gratitude for the timing of this support, highlighting that it would significantly help in organizing the tournament and promote volleyball as an essential indoor sport. The Easter Games will feature nine participating associations—seven from the Central Division and two from the West—each fielding three men’s and three women’s teams, totaling 54 teams competing throughout the weekend.

Matches will be held over two days, starting this Friday and wrapping up Saturday, with finals for both men and women scheduled at the main court of the Vodafone Arena. This exciting competition not only aims to enhance the visibility of volleyball in Fiji but also showcases the community’s commitment to fostering sports among youth, which is crucial for developing local talent and reinforcing bonds within the community.

Similar sponsorship initiatives, such as those from Mick’s Fiji Tours for the Vatulele Sevens tournament, highlight the growing trend among local businesses to invest in sports that benefit the community and its youth. These efforts not only facilitate sporting events but also contribute to overall community development and youth empowerment, indicating a hopeful future for sports in Fiji.
