Fiji’s Vicky Wu makes history at Paris Olympics

Team Fiji’s Vicky Wu faced a challenging match at the 2024 Paris Olympics, losing in 4 sets to Great Britain’s Liam Pitchford in table tennis.

Despite the loss, the 19-year-old made history as the first Fijian to qualify for the Olympics in table tennis.

A former student of Yat Sen Secondary School, Wu is experienced in international competition, having been the youngest Fijian athlete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

He also secured bronze medals at the 2017 Pacific Mini Games and the 2019 Pacific Games.
