Team Fiji Va’a continued to impress at the Palau Mini Games, securing yet another silver medal in the V6 500m Women’s final, marking their fourth medal win in total at the event. The team’s strong performance contributed to Fiji’s overall medal tally of four silver and three bronze as they currently stand in eighth position.
The accomplished Super Six women’s crew consists of athletes Sera Havea, Faith Khelan, Krystelle Whippy, Martha Samuela, Taleivini Kaimacuata, and Elenoa Vateitei, who have showcased their determination and skill throughout the Games. Earlier, Fiji’s silver medals were achieved by notable athletes, including Kelera Mudunasoko, who served as the opening ceremony flag bearer and excelled in the women’s 200m breaststroke, alongside the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay team and Elenoa Vateitei’s success in the Va’a V1 500m.
The bronze medals came from Hansel McCaig in the men’s 50m backstroke, Raymond Rusivakula in the Va’a V1 men’s 500m, and the men’s Va’a V12 team, illustrating the diverse talents present in Team Fiji.
