The Digicel Junior Kula Fiji women’s Under 16 team achieved their first victory in the Oceania Football Confederation women’s championship, keeping their Under 17 Women’s World Cup hopes alive in Colombia. They secured a 2-0 win against the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Sisilia Kuladina netted the opening goal for Fiji in the 14th minute, giving them a 1-0 advantage. Grace Lakavatu added a second goal just five minutes later, extending Fiji’s lead to 2-0. Kuladina’s performance earned her the Player of the Match award for her impressive display against the Cook Islands team.
