The Digicel Junior Kula Fiji women’s Under-16 team achieved their first victory in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) women’s championship, keeping their hopes alive for the Under-17 women’s World Cup in Colombia. They secured a 2-0 win against the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. Sisilia Kuladina opened the scoring in the 14th minute, giving Fiji a 1-0 advantage. Grace Lakavatu then added a second goal in the 19th minute, bringing the score to 2-0. Kuladina was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance against the Cook Islands.
