The Digicel Junior Kula Fiji women’s Under 16 team achieved their first victory in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) women’s championship, keeping their hopes alive for the Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. They secured a 2-0 win against the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Sisilia Kuladina scored the opening goal for Fiji in the 14th minute, giving them an early 1-0 advantage. Grace Lakavatu added a second goal just five minutes later, increasing their lead to 2-0. Kuladina was named the player of the match for her outstanding performance throughout the game against the Cook Islands.
