The Digicel Junior Kula Fiji women’s Under 16 team achieved their first victory at the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) women’s championship, keeping their hopes for the Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Colombia alive. They secured a 2-0 win against the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Sisilia Kuladina opened the scoring for Fiji in the 14th minute, giving them a 1-0 advantage. Grace Lakavatu then scored a second goal just five minutes later, extending their lead to 2-0. Kuladina was named Player of the Match due to her outstanding performance throughout the game against the Cook Islands team.
