The Digicel Junior Kula Fiji Under 16 women’s team achieved their first victory in the Oceania Football Confederation women’s championship, maintaining their hopes for qualification for the U17 women’s World Cup in Colombia. They secured a 2-0 win over the Cook Islands at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Sisilia Kuladina opened the scoring for Fiji in the 14th minute, giving them a 1-0 advantage. Grace Lakavatu added a second goal just five minutes later, solidifying their lead at 2-0. Kuladina was named player of the match for her outstanding performance against the Cook Islands.
