Fiji’s Tourism Soars: $309 Million in October Alone!

Fiji’s tourism sector reported a remarkable $309 million in earnings for October 2024, contributing to a total of $2.8 billion for the year thus far. The rise in visitor arrivals is noteworthy, with 89,388 tourists visiting in October, marking a 7% increase compared to the same month last year, according to Tourism Fiji.

The influx of tourists is primarily driven by key markets, including Australia, which sent 42,749 visitors, followed by New Zealand with 21,307 visitors and the USA, contributing 8,852 visitors. With 80% of arrivals being leisure travelers, Fiji continues to solidify its status as a preferred destination for vacationers.

Tourism Fiji is upbeat about the prospects for the remainder of the year, expressing optimism that tourist arrivals will exceed one million by the end of 2024. This growth trajectory not only enhances the country’s economy but also underscores Fiji’s appeal as a holiday hotspot.
