The entry of adult content creators Tia Emma Billinger, known as “Bonnie Blue,” and Annie Knight has raised concerns regarding Fiji’s border security. Upon their arrival on November 17, they were quickly classified as prohibited immigrants.

Billinger, a 25-year-old British citizen, had previously attempted to journey to Australia for explicit content creation tied to the “Schoolies” celebrations, where recent high school graduates congregate for festivities. However, her plans were halted when her Australian visa was revoked, a decision influenced by a petition that garnered 20,000 signatures. Authorities took action due to her intent to engage with young adults for adult content on the platform ‘OnlyFans.’ Following their arrival in Fiji, both she and Knight briefly stayed at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton in Nadi before immigration officials became aware of their presence.

Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua announced their deportation, emphasizing, “These individuals are not good for our people.” He affirmed that Fiji welcomes visitors who adhere to local laws, reassuring that any transgressions would be addressed promptly to protect the nation’s interests.

Billinger’s work has faced significant backlash, particularly due to recent posts suggesting explicit activities. The local police and immigration authorities have initiated an investigation concerning their activities in Fiji, with Acting Police Commissioner Sakeo Raikaci stating that the Criminal Investigations Department is involved in the deportation process.

Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka also criticized the pair, noting that their presence could negatively impact Fiji’s reputation as a travel destination. The situation concluded swiftly, with the creators departing Fiji on November 19, averting a potential diplomatic issue.
