TOLU Young is making waves at the US Open Championship, where he has once again set a new Fiji Swimming record while achieving a personal best in the men’s 100-meter freestyle. The talented 20-year-old finished the race in an impressive time of 49.97 seconds, securing his place in the B finals.
Entering the competition with a previous time of 49.98 seconds, Young has demonstrated remarkable consistency and skill. Earlier in the tournament, he captivated audiences by becoming the first Fijian swimmer to qualify for a final at the US Open Championship. He showcased his extraordinary talent by reaching the finals in the men’s 50-meter freestyle, earning a new personal best and national record with a swift time of 21.92 seconds.
In addition to his accomplishments in the freestyle events, Young also set a new personal best and Fiji record in the 100-meter butterfly, clocking in at 55.27 seconds.
