Timoci Duve has officially been appointed as the Head Coach for the Kaiviti Silktails, taking the helm in preparation for the New South Wales Rugby League’s 2025 Jersey Flegg Cup season. Duve, who has been serving in a caretaker capacity since June, steps in following the departure of former coach and Fiji Bati player Wes Naiqama, who resigned after four successful years.
Alongside Duve, Rusiate Ratukana returns to the team as the assistant coach. Ratukana, who previously served as the strength and conditioning coach and was also the captain of the Fiji Residents rugby Sevens team at the South Pacific Games, brings a wealth of experience to his role.
The new coaching team will be complemented by technical advisor Joe Saukuru, who will facilitate the strategic relationship between the Silktails and their new feeder club, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. This collaboration is poised to enhance player development and integration, paving the way for a promising future for the Silktails.
With fresh leadership and a strong support system in place, the Kaiviti Silktails are looking to build on their legacy and aim for greater success in the upcoming season. This transition marks a new chapter for the team, filled with possibilities and hope for the talents that lie ahead.
