A national celebration will be held for Team Fiji, during which the promised financial rewards will be distributed by the Coalition Government. Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru, made this announcement at a traditional welcoming ceremony for the Fiji Men’s and Women’s 7s teams in Nadi.
The government had previously announced an incentive structure that includes $50,000 for gold medalists, $20,000 for silver medalists, and $10,000 for bronze medalists. As silver medalists, the Fiji Men’s 7s team will receive the announced $20,000 reward.
Minister Saukuru reassured the team that they will receive their payment once the rest of Team Fiji returns from Paris. He congratulated both teams for their accomplishments and expressed his excitement for their future successes.
