Fiji’s Taekwondo Star Makes Olympic Debut with Historic Flair

Lolohea Naitasi of Team Fiji made her Olympic debut at the Grande Palais in Paris, competing against the world’s fifth-ranked Taekwondo athlete, Julyana Alsadeq from Jordan.

Although the 17-year-old faced a tough match and ultimately lost to Alsadeq, she was deeply moved by the support she received from her team and other athletes from Oceania. Naitasi described this experience as her best performance yet, following her coach Master Ra’s advice to cherish every moment of her inaugural Olympics.

As the first Taekwondo athlete to represent Fiji in the Olympics, Naitasi is now focused on her future, with aspirations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
