Fiji’s Suva: A Cruise Stop Reinvented

Tourists visiting Fiji, especially those who arrived on the Crown Princess in Suva recently, are witnessing the country’s impressive growth. This cruise ship is part of a Pacific journey, and it brought a diverse group of travelers, many of whom are frequent visitors to Fiji.

One couple, Diana Fryer, 71, and her husband Eli, 73, from Melbourne, expressed their admiration for Fiji’s ongoing development during their stay. According to Mrs. Fryer, Suva has emerged as a noteworthy example of this transformation.

Having enjoyed a leisurely walk from the ship’s docking area, the couple explored various attractions, including the botanical gardens and the museum. They also visited renowned establishments like the Grand Pacific Hotel and the Holiday Inn, taking the time to stroll through the city for over two hours.

Mrs. Fryer reflected on how much Suva has developed compared to other locations they have visited, suggesting that it stands out positively in their experiences. The cruise itself began in Sydney, with exciting stops in Mystery Island (Vanuatu), Lautoka, and now Suva, before heading to Taveuni and ultimately returning to Sydney.

This narrative highlights how tourism plays a vital role in showcasing the growth and beauty of Fiji, fostering repeat visits, and building international appreciation for the island nation.

As more tourists recognize Fiji’s advancements, it’s hopeful that this will encourage further investment and development, contributing to the country’s future prosperity.
