Rising sprint star Sera Nasilivata is set to represent Team Fiji in both the Women’s 100m and 4x100m relay at the upcoming 2025 Pacific Mini Games. Although she remains a high school student, Sera has already achieved significant recognition as one of Fiji’s most promising young athletes.

A member of the Royals Athletics Club and a student at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, Sera trains diligently under coach Waliki Satakala. She first captured attention at the 2025 Easter National Championships, where she comfortably qualified for the Mini Games. However, it was her remarkable performance during the 2025 Coca-Cola Games that established her as a household name. There, she shattered the Junior Girls’ 100m record, claimed three gold medals, and was instrumental in securing the Girls Division title for her school.

Currently, Sera boasts an impressive season’s best of 12.20 seconds, which ranks her second among female sprinters in Fiji, trailing only the seasoned athlete Heleina Young. Her determination and skill not only spotlight her talent but also signify a bright future for athletics in Fiji. The upcoming Mini Games, which will air live on FBC Sports, offer an excellent platform for Sera and her teammates to showcase their abilities on an international level.

The recent achievements of young athletes like Sera, alongside those of her peers such as Gladness Simpson and Sesenieli Rasoki, represent a broader trend of excellence and rising talent within Fiji’s athletics community. This encourages a spirit of ambition and resilience among the youth, fostering national pride as they prepare to compete.

The Pacific Mini Games, scheduled to commence on June 29, promises to be a celebration of talent and determination, highlighting the hard work of Fiji’s athletes as they take their commitment and aspirations to the global stage.
