In his farewell address, Ratu Naiqama highlighted the importance of continuity in public service, stating, “I will be going across to the other side of the ground just to continue the work there. I’m not there to finish it, I’m just there to continue the work.” This message reflects his earnest commitment to the progress of governance.
Opposition Member Viliame Naupoto, speaking on behalf of other Members of Parliament and staff, conveyed deep gratitude for Ratu Naiqama’s leadership and dedication, praising his wisdom and sound decision-making skills. He expressed, “We wish to express our sincere gratitude for your wisdom, sound leadership, guidance, and kind heart for leading the Parliament of Fiji over the past two years.”
Looking ahead, Ratu Naiqama is set to take the Oath of Office as the President of Fiji on Tuesday, 12 November 2024, at 11 am at the State House. This transition marks not just a change in title, but a continuation of dedicated service to the Fijian people.
