Robert Camilleri, the managing director for Spartan Fiji/New Zealand/Australia, reported that the 2024 Fiji Spartan APAC Championship held at the Aviva Racecourse in Nadi delivered impressive results. The event kicked off early in the morning with the 50km Ultra Start, proceeding to the 21km Beast APAC Championships.

Camilleri noted the strong performance in the championship series, highlighting the swift completion times recorded by participants. As the day progressed, he mentioned that numerous athletes were still on the course, with final waves expected to finish around 11 a.m. and many more competitors anticipated to cross the finish line later in the day.

Looking ahead, Camilleri pointed out that the following day would feature the 10km and 5km races, which typically attract a larger turnout due to their shorter distances. He expressed excitement about newcomers participating in the 5km for their first experience of the Spartan Race.

The event has seen a remarkable international presence with participants from 24 countries, combined with significant interest from local competitors. He also emphasized the inclusion of children’s activities, indicating a commitment to fostering youth involvement, which he hopes to expand in future events.

Camilleri concluded by thanking all the partners involved in the 2024 Fiji Spartan Race, acknowledging that their support was crucial in making the event a success.

This article highlights the growth and enthusiasm surrounding the Spartan Race in Fiji, showcasing not only the competitive spirit among athletes but also a promising future for community and international participation in such events. The focus on inclusivity, especially for younger participants, suggests a bright outlook for future Spartan events in the region.
