Robert Camilleri, the managing director of Spartan Fiji/New Zealand/Australia, reported excellent outcomes from the 2024 Fiji Spartan APAC Championship, which took place at the Aviva Racecourse in Nadi. The day commenced with the 50km Ultra Start, followed by the 21km Beast APAC Championships.

Camilleri noted the remarkable performances in the Championship, highlighting the impressive speeds achieved by participants. The event saw a continuous flow of competitors on the course, with the last waves scheduled to finish around 11 am, and many participants expected to complete their races in the afternoon.

Looking ahead, Camilleri mentioned that the following day would feature the much-anticipated 10km and 5km races, expected to attract even larger crowds due to their shorter distance. He expressed excitement about welcoming numerous beginners to their first 5km race, allowing them to experience the unique Spartan Race atmosphere.

The event boasted international participation from 24 countries, indicating strong global interest in the APAC Championship. Local enthusiasm was also evident, with a notable turnout from residents. Additionally, the inclusion of children’s activities contributed to a well-rounded event that aims to continue growing in future editions.

Camilleri took a moment to acknowledge the crucial support from partners that made the 2024 Fiji Spartan Race feasible, emphasizing that their contributions were essential for the event’s success.

This event not only enhances the visibility of sporting competitions in Fiji but also fosters community involvement and inspires a new generation of athletes. The positive international and local engagement bodes well for future Spartan events in the region.

In summary, the 2024 Fiji Spartan APAC Championship was a resounding success with participation from various countries, strong local interest, and a promising outlook for future races.
