The Cabinet has granted approval for the Air Transport Agreement between the United States and the Government of Fiji, establishing a bilateral open skies arrangement. This marks Fiji’s inaugural Air Transport Agreement focused on open skies, developed in collaboration with Fiji Airways. Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica stated that the Agreement is a result of the liberalization of Fiji’s Aviation Policy. This policy allows for the assessment of potential bilateral and multilateral open skies arrangements on a case-by-case basis, aimed at ensuring the viability of air routes, sustaining trade and investment, and supporting the tourism sector in Fiji.
