The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced that the construction of a temporary bypass road at the Armco Crossing near Semo Village is making significant progress. As of early today, clearing and grubbing operations on the bypass have nearly reached 90 percent completion.

This temporary route is being established to facilitate traffic impacted by a recent road slip at the crossing. The collapse of a section of the main highway in Semo Village, which occurred yesterday afternoon due to heavy rainfall, has affected hundreds of commuters.

In light of the ongoing construction, motorists are advised to plan their travel in advance and anticipate potential delays. The FRA has emphasized the importance of exercising extreme caution while navigating through the area.

With the temporary bypass nearing completion, there is hope that travel disruptions will soon ease, allowing for smoother commutes in the affected region.
