The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji (SSDPSF) has partnered with Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH Hospitals) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strategic reforms and planning to enhance community health services. During the inaugural Sanatan Gala Night at the 63rd Sanatan Convention held in Lautoka, President Dhirendra Nand announced the initiative in front of a large audience, expressing a commitment to improving the quality of life for all Sabha members.

In line with this effort, SSDPSF executive director Shayal Shikha revealed that Sanatan followers would benefit from reduced GP consultation fees, set at $7.50, alongside free consultations for seniors aged 65 and above. Additional perks include special discounts on various medical procedures at PSH Hospitals located in Nadi and Suva.

Ritesh Kumar, operations manager of PSH Hospitals, who attended the Gala Night as the chief guest, acknowledged the Sanatan community’s significant role in cultural preservation and expressed that values such as service and compassion are pivotal in healthcare. He emphasized the importance of the collaboration, which includes two Sabha executives joining the PSH Hospitals Foundation board, thereby strengthening their relationship and collaboration in medical services.

This partnership reflects a broader trend observed in Fiji, where faith-based organizations, like the SSDPSF, play a crucial role in advancing social cohesion and community health. Similar previous efforts emphasized the significance of such collaborations in leveraging advanced healthcare services for marginalized communities, demonstrating a collective movement toward improved health outcomes and economic growth through health tourism.

The optimism surrounding this initiative showcases hope for a healthier future for the members of the Sanatan community while contributing to Fiji’s evolving healthcare landscape.
