Fiji’s Rugby Teams Gear Up for Glory: A Presidential Send-Off

The Flying Fijians and Fijiana XV presented their traditional greetings to President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House as they gear up for the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup and various international matches.

President Katonivere warmly received the teams, expressing his appreciation for the pride they have brought to the nation. He commended their dedication and achievements, noting that they have become role models for young Fijians with aspirations in rugby.

“We would like to thank you for your unwavering commitment to enhancing the image of rugby both locally and internationally,” President Katonivere stated. “Your outstanding performances have made you role models for our younger generations, motivating them to work hard and pursue careers in rugby.”

The President also extended his gratitude to the Fiji Rugby Union, coaches, and support staff for their vital roles in developing the players and readying them for international competition.

The Fiji Water Flying Fijians will face Samoa this Friday at 6 pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, while the Vodafone Fijiana XV will continue their preparations for a series of international matches, including the WXV 3 tournament scheduled in Dubai next month.
